On November 29th, 2009 we published our first article. Now, hundreds of blog posts later, we’re proud and honored to be ranked the #8 poker blog online! Over the past year since we celebrated our 3rd anniversary, our traffic has doubled to approximately 4,000 unique visitors each month. We’ve also increased Cardplayer Lifestyle’s presence on social media, with almost 200 Facebook fans and over 400 followers on Twitter.
To be sure, numbers alone don’t tell the full story of our site’s growth, as plenty of top poker players and notables in the poker media now regularly read and share our articles, including:
- 2005 WSOP Champ Joe Hachem
- 1983 WSOP Champ Tom McEvoy
- ESPN Poker and Card Player Magazine Columnist Bernard Lee
- 6-Time WSOP Circuit Ring Winner Ari Engel
- 2013 November Niner Amir Lehavot
- Pokerstrategy.com Editor Barry Carter
- Pokernews.com Editor-in-Chief Donnie Peters
- and many other “big names” in poker

Aside from continuing to bring our fans a slew of poker op-ed pieces, intriguing poker lifestyle pieces, and excellent posts full of poker strategies and tips, we’ve also snagged some great interviews with unique personalities in the poker world like Jared Tendler, Dan Morelli, and Shaun “the Dealer” Harris, to name a few.
Moreover, our fantastic mobile app, Poker Notes Live, continues to be extremely well-received by the poker press. We’re proud to boast well over 2,000 downloads, and now have the app available in 9 languages on both Android and iOS devices. New features are continuously being added as well, such as the ability to take pictures of your opponents and the Poker Odds – Range Calculator. So, if for some reason you’re STILL not taking notes on your live poker opponents, it’s time to be a part of the revolution and download Poker Notes Live… after all, it’s FREE!
What Have We Got Planned for Our Fifth Year?
We enter our fifth year with big plans for continued growth. Specifically, we plan on attracting more contributors to bring you even more top-notch poker content that you crave. We also intend to give more coverage to the newly-emerging licensed and regulated online poker industry in the United States, so expect more blog posts about that. Beyond that, future acquisitions and sponsorship deals we have in the works are also quite likely to make further growth possible for our site, so keep your fingers crossed for us!
As much hard work and effort as we put in to making Cardplayer Lifestyle the best it can be, it wouldn’t be possible without the support of our advertisers, so I just wanted to personally thank you all again – you know who you are.
And finally, thanks to all our regular readers for patronizing our site, as well as anyone who has even visited just once to read something they’ve found interesting. We hope to keep publishing great poker content for you to enjoy.
Here’s to the next four years … and beyond!
