Four-Time WPT Champion Darren Elias Awaits Players in End Boss Series on BetMGM

There’s nothing more exciting than facing one of the world’s best poker players, but it’s even more the case this Thanksgiving, as BetMGM online poker players are about to discover across the partypoker US Network.

From November 23rd through 28th, BetMGM poker players can play in an online poker series developed by and featuring four-time World Poker Tour Main Event winner Darren Elias.

As BetMGM brand ambassador, the poker legend will be taking part in the End Boss Series in New Jersey, and has challenged players in Pennsylvania and Michigan to try and become the End Boss of their state. With seven different events in each jurisdiction, the End Boss Series has something for every player, no matter what their poker bankroll.

How Can YOU Take on Darren Elias?

If you play in any of BetMGM’s End Boss November Online Series Tournaments, you’ll be eligible for the chance to face the poker legend on the online felt in New Jersey. Knock him out in the $150,000-guaranteed Main Event on November 28th and you’ll win a three-day (two night) stay at the Borgata in Atlantic City. Elias couldn’t be more excited to take to the virtual felt.

“I’m very excited for the End Boss Online Series,” he told us. “This has been my first experience building an online schedule with a poker site and I’m looking forward to seeing how it goes. The added element of a prize on my head makes it even more interesting, with whoever knocks me out winning a weekend trip to Atlantic City.”

To take part, players must be 21 years of age or older and playing within the state of New Jersey (BetMGM Poker, Borgata Poker, partypoker NJ), Pennsylvania (BetMGM Poker, Borgata Poker), or Michigan (BetMGM Poker). With a great array of satellite qualifiers to take part in too, players can get into the action for as little as $5. Anyone who does play an event will get an invite to a December freeroll that will award multiple entries into a special New Year Knockout PKO tournament.

As Elias explains, to be able to play again in New Jersey has been a great boost to him, but also to the poker industry as a whole.

“It’s great to be playing online poker legally again in the United States and working with BetMGM to build the network in our country,” he said. “I’ve felt bad for American poker players since Black Friday, as we’ve been forced to jump through hoops to play online in the U.S. For the first time in a long time, I’m optimistic about the future for online poker and I think BetMGM will be the site to play in the years to come.”

Whoever wins the End Boss Main Event will be hailed as the ‘End Boss’ of their respective U.S. state, meaning serious bragging rights to go with their profit. Elias, who will be playing in the New Jersey event, is the bounty, and the player who eliminates him from the Main Event will grab that exclusive stay at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City. We can almost feel the heat from the spa ourselves, but it’s important not to get carried away before the cards are in the air. Elias has some advice for first-timers taking on the series.

“My advice to beginning poker players, especially in tournaments, is to be patient and know what you’re in for,” he said. “Poker tournaments last for hours, and often at the lower stakes, it’s a battle of who will make a mistake first. A momentary lapse in concentration can end your tournament very quickly. I’d try to keep a long-term mentality and eliminate the big blow-ups.”

There you have it. Follow Darren Elias’ advice and you could be joining the four-time WPT champion in Atlantic City!
