In this episode of The Bernard Lee Poker Show on the Cardplayer Lifestyle Podcast Family, Bernard Lee interviews Koray Aldemir, 2021 WSOP Main Event Champion. This interview is Part one of a two-part series.

At the start of this week’s interview, Koray discusses the aftermath of winning the 2021 WSOP Main Event. The German talks about how he got started in poker in Germany. He reflects on his transition to high roller events and his success in high roller tournaments over the last few years. He also talks about talking strategy with his German poker contingent.

During the second part of this week’s interview, Koray remembers watching 2011 WSOP Main Event champion, Germany’s Pius Heinz. He discusses his world in Austria during the COVID-19 pandemic, during which he played a lot of online poker. Koray talks about the difference playing in high roller events versus large field lower buy-in tournaments. He also talks about playing some mixed games during the COVID-19 pandemic. Finally, he explains why he likes playing in tournaments vs. cash games, and the balancing act of playing a big stack in tournaments.
