With the COVID-19 pandemic having wreaked utter havoc on the live poker scene, one organization that’s got to make some big adjustments is The Hendon Mob/GPI.
We check in with the team that runs the world’s largest live poker tournament database to see how they’re coping with the fallout of shuttered poker rooms and cancelled poker festivals the world over, and what they’re busying themselves with during the Coronavirus era.
Practically everyone in the poker world has heard of the Hendon Mob and visited the website, which serves as the industry’s largest database of tournament results. There’s a hardworking team of great people that “makes the Hendon Mob happen,” producing and working with the database to ensure it best serves the millions upon millions of players and fans constantly hungry for poker stats.
At the inaugural Malta Poker Festival, I had the opportunity to meet and speak with the majority of the Hendon Mob team, including Eric Danis, Roland Boothby, Hans Kleinsman, and Wesley McKenzie, getting to learn more about them and what they do. Now’s your chance to do the same.
On the latest episode of the Top Pair Home Game Poker Podcast (#270), together with my co-host Bruce Briggs, I interviewed Eric Danis, Head of Poker Content for the Global Poker League/Global Poker Index.
Listen to the entirety of Episode 270 of the podcast, which includes the interview with Eric starting at the 14-minute mark. You can also read the transcript.
