Absolute Poker and UB Declare Bankruptcy

Here’s the scoop:

  • Blanca Gaming, parent company of both Absolute Poker and UB, sent an email to shareholders indicating that it would be declaring bankruptcy (and filing for bankruptcy protection) in Norway.
  • Most tellingly, a company spokesperson was quoted as saying that Blanca Gaming has “no cash on hand and no prospects for any cash flow for the foreseeable future…it is currently unable to make any payments toward its debt obligations …there will be no future payments”.
  • 95% of company employees have been laid off.

UB + Absolute = Bankrupt!

Bottom line – if you were employed by, are a spokesperson for, or ever played on either of these 2 online poker sites, you’re pretty much screwed.
