You gotta admit, the people at UB have been pretty busy lately. With Phil Hellmuth and Annie Duke recently departing from the UB stable, the online poker room has made a move towards showcasing a younger group of online poker pros, most notably new company front man Joe Sebok. This week, however, UB shocked the poker world when it signed WSOP bracelet winner Prahlad Friedman to an endorsement deal.
Why the shock? Friedman was the most notable casualty of the UltimateBet cheating scandal a few years back, getting swindled for millions. The scandal was actually what prompted UltimateBet to rebrand itself as UB in the first place. With Hellmuth and Duke out of the picture, and now with the signing of Friedman, it appears the site has come full circle and made amends for their notorious past.
