The 888poker LIVE Glasgow festival took place from March 13-23 at Grosvenor Casino Merchant City. A number of events were contested on the schedule, with the £250K GTD £888 buy-in Main Event attracting a total of 407 entries. That meant a total prize pool of £320,000 — well exceeding the tournament’s guarantee, which was par for the course with pretty much every other tournament at the 888poker LIVE festival in Scotland’s largest city.
Cardplayer Lifestyle founder Robbie Strazynski was on-site in Glasgow providing coverage. During his poker trip, her interviewed Grosvenor Casino Merchant City General Manager Debbie Johnston, 888poker LIVE Events Manager Joaquin Vidales, played his first ever 888poker LIVE tournament and managed to find time to do a good bit of touring in and around Glasgow.
With that said, the week’s primary action took place at the felt over the course of close to a dozen tournaments. Below, we recap how they all played out, who emerged victorious, and how much money the new 888poker LIVE Glasgow champions all won.
The 2025 888poker LIVE Glasgow Main Event

Among the 50 players who received payouts was 888poker ambassador Vivian Saliba, who finished in 25th place and took home £2,410. The Main Event’s final table was played out on Sunday. Notably, one of the finalists was Scottish player Willie Haughey, who has earned $340K over the course of his poker career. In 2008, he bought Peter Eastgate‘s bracelet from the WSOP Main Event for $150,000, and Peter then donated the money from the sale to charity. Willie finished eighth in Glasgow, winning £7,430 for his effort.

The winner of the Main Event after three hours of play at the final table was Scotland’s Dean Lyall, who won the golden figure-8 trophy and a prize of £58,130. Dean has been playing live on the circuit since 2008 and has earned $1.6 million lifetime, placing him sixth on Scotland’s All-Time Money List 🏴.

The final ambassador standing in this lively event was Nick Eastwood, who managed to squeak into the money with an 11th place finish for £550.
