The 2025 Borgata Summer Poker Open is already in full swing, with tournament action underway and players from around the region flocking to Atlantic City. Running July 17-31, the 15-day series features 27 tournaments and boasts over $2.5 million in guaranteed prize pools. The star attraction of the series – the $2,700 buy-in Main Event – kicks off this Sunday, July 27, and carries a $1 million guarantee. With several preliminary events already completed and others still in progress, the buzz is building for what’s sure to be a thrilling finish.

While No Limit Hold’em remains the most popular draw, Borgata continues to embrace mixed games and player diversity. As such, it’s no surprise that a wide array of poker variants are being contested as part of the series, including Omaha 8 or Better, H.O.S.E. (Limit Hold’em, Omaha 8 or Better, 7 Card Stud, and 7 Card Stud 8 or Better), and B.E.A.S.T., (Badugi, Stud 8 or Better, A-5 Triple Draw, 7 Card Stud, and 2-7 Triple Draw), plus there’s a Ladies Event, a Seniors Event, and more.

New Era, New Room

Coinciding with the summer series, Borgata and BetMGM Poker have rolled out a major upgrade to the poker experience on property. A newly co-branded poker room and a state-of-the-art tournament space have officially opened their doors. The BetMGM Poker Tournament Room at Borgata features 18 sleek, modern tables and symbolizes the continued evolution of the partnership between MGM Resorts International and BetMGM.

This move further strengthens the online-to-live poker ecosystem the two companies have been building over the last couple years in particular.

“The newly co-branded BetMGM Poker Tournament Room at Borgata is a game-changer, offering a dynamic, player-centric environment that elevates the Tournament player experience. Our partnership with BetMGM continues to thrive, seamlessly connecting online and live poker through BetMGM Poker’s qualifiers, with one player turning a $50 online qualifier into a remarkable $112,000 win, showcasing the incredible opportunities this collaboration creates for our player base” said Borgata Director of Poker Operations Kellie DeCelis.

BetMGM Poker has been riding a wave of momentum this year, thanks in large part to the merging of its player pools across states. The unification of New Jersey and Michigan boosted traffic and prize pools, with Pennsylvania’s recent addition to the network boosting the company’s US online poker market share to almost 50%.

“BetMGM Poker is committed to listening to our players and offering them the best online to live poker experience,” said BetMGM’s Senior Manager of Poker Operations David Mileaf. “We take tremendous pride being the only platform you can play online and qualify for poker events at MGMRI properties like Borgata. The BetMGM Poker Tournament Room at Borgata is the latest way we are collaborating to display our commitment to our players and elevating poker.”

Borgata: Atlantic City’s Poker Powerhouse

It’s fitting that the Borgata Poker Room is setting a new bar once again. Since its opening 22 years ago, in July 2003, the Borgata Poker Room has reigned supreme as Atlantic City’s #1 poker destination. With more than 65 tables, it’s the largest and most active room in the region, offering nonstop cash game action and multiple daily No Limit Hold’em tournaments.

Beyond Hold’em, Borgata regularly spreads Pot Limit Omaha and 7 Card Stud, and remains a beloved venue for mixed game enthusiasts. The property also hosts several high-profile series throughout the year, with the Borgata Poker Open – held each Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall – serving as its flagship event.

As the 2025 Borgata Summer Poker Open nears its midpoint, excitement continues to build both on the felt and throughout the property. With a fresh look, robust schedule, and surging online support, Borgata and BetMGM Poker are setting the stage for a memorable Main Event and a strong finish to the series.

“The 2025 Borgata Summer Poker Open is just the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Borgata Poker and BetMGM Poker. With our expanded online-to-live poker ecosystem and a diverse, action-packed tournament schedule, we’re committed to delivering unforgettable moments and cementing Borgata’s legacy as the East Coast’s ultimate poker destination” added DeCelis.
