Roxanne Johnson

Roxanne is a passionate Canadian poker player who embraces every opportunity to play and study the game. Drawn to the strategy and depth of poker, Roxanne thrives on the fact that the learning never ends. Her love for cards began early, thanks to her grandfather, who taught her a wide variety of games.

After retiring from her role as a court liaison with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Roxanne dove headfirst into poker education, studying intensively through PokerCoaching.com. She paid for a trip to Europe with her online poker winnings and got invited to participate in a PokerStars Women’s Bootcamp. That led to the chance to play in a special tournament in Prague where, after getting training from Jennifer Shahade and Georgina James, Roxanne earned a Platinum Pass to the Bahamas to play in the $25,000 PokerStars Players No-Limit Hold’em Championship.

Since 2023, Roxanne has worked as a live reporter for PokerNews at the WSOP in Las Vegas each summer. Inspired by growing interest from local women, she also began teaching poker in her hometown, empowering new players while sharpening her skills.
